Shoe of the Day: Birds of a Feather

a little throw back miu miu action on a tuesday

The Bedazzled Birkin

My boyfriend and I have adopted the Tracey Morgan line from 30 Rock, "I want to go to there" and over use it any chance we get. I feel like it perfectly embodies my reaction to this image ...Bedazzled birkins? Fo' serious? It is so ugly and yet so amazing. If I were a crazy bag lady- this would be the ultimate bag to store my ball of twine, 2 cats, empty toilet paper rolls, mini packs of ketchup and old issues of t.v guide.

Everyday Magic

Today I was having a particularly low day. One of those...what does it all mean/ What am I doing with myself sort-of-days. Even the optimists have them. And so you find yourself in a rut within a rut. What do you do? Some might say mix it up a bit...find yourself some new inspirational music by going on a wild youtube chase. Walk to work and take a different route and reeeeeeeaaaally pay attention. Take a second look at a person you have never taken a second look at before that you cross paths with everyday- and speak to them...as a real human. And if these don't put a little funky into your funk - you can always patiently wait with awareness for the unexpected magic that happens everyday. I came home from my less-than-stellar work day. It was obviously raining the whole walk home. I attempted to cook spaghetti - and dropped it all over the floor. I walked to my mailbox and voila! My magic had arrived. A loving beautiful letter from a special friend. A friend that should I ever have a private island would make the short list onto my private island. The day is not over- there is still time to appreciate the magic in the moment.

Tales of (Absence) and Endearment

It has been a crazy week. I feel like the fog of winter is slowly lifting (I am reluctant to admit that as I write this I can hear a truck down below moving piles of snow from one side of the street to the other). I lost my Oscars pool but somehow things worked out to calling it even and I gained a delicious dinner at Yuan, a japanese-veggie restaurant that I highly recommend in Montreal. Spring rolls and fried tofu were had and the week spent with my beau was both lovely and bitter/sweet upon his departure. But back to business, digging myself out of both work and house cleaning I have emerged on this side and decided a good way to start spring is with some shopping tips for you! I left my camera at my friends boozy brunch (to many mimosas) and so I will have to wait until tomorrow but in the mean time I wanted to pass along another fantastic style blog, Tales of Endearment. It has a little element of The Coveteur, capturing people with stellar personal style in their homes with their prized possessions. The images are very striking- I will include some more for you to enjoy and take a peek.

This and That

This (I'd imagine) is the type of headpiece you wear when you have a large pimple. No one will notice the pimple. Tonight is Oscar night...I would love to see Jennifer Lawrence win for Winter's Bone (although Portman and her bump will likely win) and Javier Bardem for Biutiful (spelling?) but I can see Firth gold-manning it. Either way, my beau is in town...the night is young and we have made our picks - some fairly blindly...I am not up on my animation shorts. We're heading to Cinema au Parc for the Oscar Gala and the loser makes dinner tomorrow eve. Fingers crossed. i'll keep you posted.
